Frontiers Friday #68. 1 Special Video on How to Coach for Performance and Coach of Development
Frontiers Friday #68. What Does Reigniting Clinical Supervision (RCS) Actually Look Like?
Today, I've got a video that walks you through on a practical level, how to use a framework of clinical supervision to translate to actual improvement in outcome.
We will take a step-by-step approach to examine what entails a "Coaching for Performance" and "Coaching for Development" framework.
(By the way, in case you missed it last week, here's the link to how I use the Play-Pause Exercise with Esther Perel's session: "I Don't Mean to Be Mean But...")
The thumbnail looks like I was going to breakout into a Bollywood Dance.
Words Worth Contemplating:
Winning the Sportsperson of the year in 1972 and Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2003, is one of the world's most renowned coach, John Wooden.
In an analysis it was found that Coach Wooden spent less than 7% of his time dispensing compliments or disapproval. He spent 75% of his time providing "discrete acts of teaching... pure information: what to do, how to do it (and) when to intensify an activity.*
*Note: If you want to geek out, here's the link to the article.
REFLECT:
Looking at the analysis of John Wooden's practices, if you are a clinical supervisor, in guiding therapists, do you find yourself providing specific learning and performance feedback, or more of your formulation and case conceptualisation?
If you are a supervisee, would you need more praise or more specific directionality?
