ON THE FRONTIER: Frontiers of Psychotherapist Newsletter Oct'19.
Hi Folks on the Frontier,
I don't know about you, but one of the repeated pitfalls I face on a daily basis is trying to wring too many things in a day.
I keep falling prey to what is called the planning fallacy. Which is, I think a particular task would take X hrs, but in reality, it takes X multiplied by 1.5 to 3 times.
For example, while working on the first four articles on Reimagining Education in Psychotherapy (REP) Series (see below), while I projected 2hrs for each of these posts, it actually took me on average 6hrs over the span of 1 week each to complete. Blimey.
Another thing that adds to the planning fallacy: Other stuff creeps in too! Just watch what happens to your mind when you open your inbox, or check your social media feeds.
So here's my note to self: Aim to do less in a day.
It's the same pitfall I realised I've made in my annual reflection (see this post). But I've some inklings based on this year's experience that if I aim to do less in a day, I can achieve more in year.
Today, my aim is to reach out to you in this newsletter, provide you some updates, and hopefully, some useful nuggets.
Upcoming Workshops in Nov 19:

FRONTIERS RADIO Podcast!
I've been toying with doing a podcast for more than a year. I had several reasons—I mean, excuses—for my initial hesitation, but the one key reason I finally started recording the first few episodes is because I really love how intimate a podcast can be, for someone to be talking directly to your ear, reminds me so much of the days when I would sit by the radio and listen to a program. Plus, there is something about the use of the voice, sans any visual stimulus that makes the experience more personal.
While I was recording the podcast at a studio,
next door was one of my favorite local band, San Cisco!!
In the coming weeks, the first episode will be released. Stay Tuned!
