Bliss and Blisters of December: A Month Full of Connections and Loneliness, Reminiscence and Anticipation.
Christmas season is a wonderful and painful time. For some, gatherings with family and friends bring great joy. For others, they are confronted with the pain of isolation or exclusion.
Please take this time to reach out to friends and family members. Let them know that you are thinking of them. We are not only wired to connect, but we see ourselves clearer when we are in good company.
Ask your friend, "What's been happening? What's on your mind? What have you been thinking of lately? What else? (see a previous blogpost on this topic). People are interesting when we are interested.
A GIFT FOR YOU
In the spirit of Christmas, I want to give you a small gift. (I know, it's past Xmas day. Never too late, right?)
As some of you might know, I'm a voracious reader. (My school teachers would be really surprised to learn this, given that I nearly failed school as a teen, and was told to quit school at 15.). I'm filtering through my reading list, and I'm compiling a TOP 10 books that I've read in 2018 that I think might be of interest to you.
Some might say that books do not teach you what you need to learn from experience. But I also believe that real leaders are readers. Heck, even Bruce Lee had a deep relationship with books; he was steeped into eastern and western philosophy, psychology, self-help and other fields.
Books are one of the few mediums that has and are likely to withstand the test of time. A good book also seems to transport us out of time.
Drop me an email if you are interested in receiving the TOP 10 Books List for 2018. No strings attached.
